According
to Weir, a social networking site will close
the loop for making TinselVision a 360-degree
entertainment offering. "I think, going
by the notions of Web 2.0 and the kind of
audiences we are attending to, a social
networking site will be fitting as platform
to have a relationship with our customers.
So the site will balance the equation of
being a premium aspirational entertainment
offering," he said.
Weir
however denies any possibilities of creating
another MySpace or a Facebook. "If
you have a user who is consuming already
consuming a set of services, a social networking
platform will further strengthen the usage
since it offers an interactive platform
not only within users but also with the
service provider. The social networking
site, will act as that platform."
In
August, TinselVision acquired desivision.tv.
The site which achieved more than a million
unique monthly visitors will be incorporated
into the company's social network offerings.
On
the mobile front, TinselVision has its plans
charted out as well. "The mobile platform
requires a different business model altogether.
Users are not going to be watching content
in volumes and content orientation needs
to be done differently. As of now, we are
not launching directly on the mobile platform.
But it's definitely on the cards,"
he says.
The
firm has already entered into content syndication
and licensing deals with Zee network, Star
India and Zoom and plans to soft launch
with approximately 700 hours of content
on-board for the site.
