MUMBAI:
Time Inc. has joined hands with Anandabazar Patrika (ABP)
to launch Fortune India next year.
The
announcement was made by Fortune|Money Group president Vivek
Shah, ABP CEO DD Purkayastha and Fortune International editor
Robert Friedman.
Following
its launches in China and Turkey, Fortune India will
be the third country-specific edition.
Shah
said, "India has become a major player in today's business
landscape. The Indian market has risen to the top of every
CEO's agenda and therefore is the perfect venue for the leading
global business magazine."
"India
has the need for a high-quality, internationally renowned
publication. Our market is quickly progressing and we are
confident Fortune's innovative and forward-thinking content
will successfully guide our business leaders," said Purkayastha.
Added
Friedman, "We are thrilled to partner with ABP Pvt. Ltd.
in bringing Fortune to India. Fortune has long had a fascination
with India and this pursuit will undoubtedly broaden our editorial
coverage."
Time
Inc. is a division of media conglomerate Time Warner and it
publishes 39 editions available in more than 19 countries.
The titles include Fortune, Golf, In Style, People, Real
Simple, Sports Illustrated, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, Time
and Time for Kids.
