Nokia inks content deals with CNN, Sony Pictures

MUMBAI: Finnish cellphone manufacturer Nokia has inked content deals with seven major media producers for streaming video on its select range of Nokia N-series phones.

 
CNN and Sony Pictures are amongst the list of content producers who are part of the deal, to provide high-end value added services (VAS) to these phones.

"Consumer desire to watch Internet videos on mobile devices is growing all the time and we want to help users discover and access the best content in the simplest way possible," Harri Mannisto, director at Nokia's multimedia unit.

 

India's IBN news network, Jamba, RoofTopComedy, ROK and Versaly Entertainment are also part of the content deal. This deal is in addition to the existing deals Nokia has signed to stream internet video content from Google's YouTube and Reuters.
