MUMBAI:
Cinemax India Limited has posted a stand-alone net profit
of Rs 29 million for the quarter ended 30 September 2007,
as against Rs 7.7 million a year ago.
During
the period, the company's stand-alone total income grew to
Rs 185.9 million compared to Rs 143.4 million in the corresponding
quarter of the previous year.
On
a consolidated basis, Cinemax's profit was at Rs 79.9 million
for the quarter ended 30 September 2007 while gross income
stood at Rs 278.2 million.
This
quarter Cinemax's footfalls increased 16 per cent at 1.65
million from 1.43 million.
Since
the company's shares were listed on 14 February 2007, the
Company disclosed the consolidated results which were drawn
up for the first time for the year ended 31 March, 2007. Hence
the comparative figures for the previous periods corresponding
to September 30, 2007 are not available.
Commenting
on the performance of the company, Cinemax India chairman
Rasesh Kanakia said, "We have had a very encouraging
quarter with a growth of 16 per cent. As on date we have spread
our presence to Gujarat, Assam and Haryana. We are scheduled
to launch 3-4 new properties this Diwali."
