MUMBAI: After lining up programming on prime time, INX Media's general entertainment channel 9X will focus on the afternoon band from 14 January.

The menu will include original shows and movies. The afternoon slot will start at 12.30 pm.

Says INX Media CEO and founder Indrani Mukerjea, "Soon after the launch of 9X, we did not want to bombard our audience with too many shows at a time. Let the audience get familiar with the present shows. We will introduce our afternoon slot with fresh programming from 14 January."

Mukerjea, however, refused to divulge any further details on the afternoon programming line-up.

9X will also roll out a thriller, an epic-based show and a chat show next year.

The weekend prime time band will be launched on 1 December with Balaji's fiction Kya Dil Mein Hain and Endemol India's reality show Mission Ustaad in association with United Nations at 9 pm.

Mission Ustaad is a musical show where four celebrity singers will compose songs to take forward the message of UN's eight Millennium Development Goals (MDG).

The best singer pair will be given a chance to cut an album co-produced by Endemol India, 9X and UN.

However Mukerjea says that 9X will contribute all profits from the SMSs received for the show towards furthering the awareness and implementation of UN's MDG.

The brand partners of Mission Ustaad are Future Group, Vodafone and Vimal.
