The
weekend chat show which will go on air at late night
in December, aims to change the society's view of transgenders
and others of that community.
Psychologists
and counselors would participate in the show and talk
about issues considered taboo in society and attempt
to answer them.
The
show's host Rose has earlier been a trainer in Tamil
Nadu State Aids Control Society which is aimed at educating
the Tamil Nadu police department about the transgeder
community, their rights, issues and concerns.
She
is also a recipient of two beauty contest titles and
has already a live Tamil show on Vectone TV London for
30 episodes. She holds an MS in biomedical engineering
from Louisiana Tech University, USA.
Vijay
TV head K Sriram says, "In the past Vijay has created
many path breaking shows like Kathai Alla Nijam, Puthiraa
Punithamaa which have created social awareness and has
been a huge hit among the audience. Vijay's Ipadiku
Rose will deal with sensitive issues of society with
high interaction amongst the audience. This show is
not to sensationalize but to provide a platform to get
the right message across to the viewers."
Rose
says, "There is a great misconception about transgender
in this society. Even they have dreams and aspirations
like anyone else. I believe that this show will definitely
change the way the society sees our community. Media
is a responsible medium through which we can reach the
masses; and Vijay TV would act as the platform for us
to connect to the people. I believe that my education
and experiences abroad among others will stand me in
good stead in presenting this show successfully."
