Cisco CEO John Chambers to deliver keynote at 2008 CES

MUMBAI: The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) in the US has announced that Cisco Systems chairman and CEO John Chambers will deliver a keynote address at the Leaders in Technology Dinner, to be held at the 2008 International CES.

 


Produced by CEA, the 2008 International CES, the consumer technology tradeshow will return to Las Vegas, from 7-10 January 2008.

Chambers’ address will kick off the annual Leaders in Technology Dinner, honouring policymakers instrumental in furthering technology innovation.

CEA president and CEO Gary Shapiro says, “John Chambers is an industry pioneer with a clear vision for the future of consumer technology. Under Chambers’ direction, Cisco continues to serve as the lead provider of networking solutions to connect consumers, businesses and government leaders across the globe.

“We are thrilled to have John speak at the Leaders in Technology dinner, as this group of policymakers is the voice responsible for the protection and progression of technology innovation.”

The 2008 International CES will feature the hottest product debuts from 2,700 exhibitors, covering more than 30 product areas, including the latest in content, wireless, digital imaging, mobile electronics, home theater and audio.

The Leaders in Technology Programme at CES allows high-level public policymakers and technologists to experience a dynamic industry that supports $600 billion in retail worldwide, and provides information and insight to assist officials in evaluating federal policies that affect the consumer technology industry.
