NEW DELHI: Pragya Vision is launching a spiritual and lifestyle channel in the last week of November.

The channel, titled Pragya, will air five hours of live programming. This includes Khadi Baat (weekdays, one-hour evening show), where men's issues would be discussed. They would be asked to send in their responses and pose questions.

Some of the other programmes that have been planned are Utho Jago, a morning programme; a thrice-a-week women's program Just 4 Women; another women's interactive program Aks Bar Aks in the evening; Youth.com at 10 pm on weekdays which would take up youth issues.

Pragya has devised subscriber retention measures that it hopes will enable build loyal viewership. The channel has deployed two technologies merged to create a unique system which will ensure that every SMS, email or phone call for the interactive programmes will be answered, with a ticker running 24/7 just for that purpose.

"We reach out to you at your doorstep, that is our concept and that will be one of our differentiating factors," said Pragya channel MD Meena Tiwari. "This is a ticker dedicated to the people."

She further added, "The management's outlook is that anyone who is sending an SMS or phone call or email is spending money on us, and we must give it back to them with due respect."

The channel's programming head Pragyan Bhattacharya explained, "In any news or current affairs channel when live interactive programming is aired and viewers are requested to have their say or ask questions, only those responses are aired that come during that programme being aired. We shall have the ticker running 24 / 7 to receive responses and answers, so that no one feels ignored."

Bhattacharya assured that the names or contact points of the senders would not be revealed and each query would be given a ticker ID tag to ensure confidentiality.
