As
part of Prithvi's festival, short stories titled 'Time
to Tell a Tale' directed by Digvijay Savant, was performed
at Prithvi Theatre and Horniman Circle. It consists
of a dramatic rendition of one and a half hour stories
collected from the Yuva Katha series.
Among
the stories told, Umpiring, is a story about
how two villages in Bengal compete with each other through
cricket set the mood for a laughter-filled evening.
Despite the hot weather children were the last to complain
since their mind was grasped by Munni and her singing
coins that tempted her to buy Jalebis or the
tale of two young men who poke a ghost to be assured
that it is, in fact, a spirit. Children couldn't stop
wondering where the stray dog noises came from in Maya
Mriga and how the busy bazaar in 'flute' sounded
so perfect.
