- UTV Motion Pictures' Life in a
Metro has released in Indian theatres
with 190 prints in the opening week.
Another 40 prints will be added in the next week, the company said. For
the international market, Metro will be screened without intermission as
it is a 2.09 hour duration film. This is in line with western movies that
run without intermission. The
company claims the film has had successful premières at Sydney, Melbourne,
Leicester Square, London (a first for an Indian film) and Grand Cineplex, Dubai.
Shilpa
Shetty, in her first big screen appearance after her television appearance in
Celebrity Big Brother, is expected to lend global appeal to the film. Metro
is an intertwined story of the emotional journeys of six characters who live in
modern metropolitan cities. Director Anurag Basu portrays the life in a metro
by drawing from lives of three couples that dwell in it. The ensemble star-cast
includes Shilpa Shetty, Shiney Ahuja, Kay Kay Menon, Konkana Sen Sharma, Sharman
Joshi, Kangna Ranaut and Irrfan Khan. |
