MUMBAI: POGO, in association with Landmark bookstores, today kicked off its series of multi-city summer workshops with Rob, the iconic and hugely popular host of the award winning POGO original production – M.A.D. (Music, Art and Dance).

The workshops also coincided the launch of M.A.D. branded products. The M.A.D. merchandise range includes branded stationery, enhanced versions of Do-It-Yourself (DIY) kits as well as books and VCDs and DVDs. The products are targeted to give kids the opportunity to take home the experience of the program and trigger their creative talent.

The merchandise would be available across 30 cities in over 3,000 outlets through leading multi-brand retail chains like Landmark, Lifestyle, Shoppers’ Stop, Pantaloon, Lilliput, Ebony, etc. and would be priced between Rs 25 to Rs 599.

The launch saw a huge turnout of excited kids and their mothers. Their response was well-timed since Rob received cheerful applause when he made an entry and painted the white canvas behind him in his characteristic style.

Speaking to the press, the talented artist, currently a rage with kids, spoke about his close bonding with them. “Children are honest and original. It is important to channelise their talent through an approach which is friendly to them. They have an eye for detail and in today’s age it is important for kids to have expertise in some field which is parallel to education.” he said. “The M.A.D merchandise aims to serve the same purpose.”

M.A.D. is a lively, witty show that blends creative learning through its entertaining host ROB, who teaches the audience how to make fun table-top ‘makes’ and shares his creative ideas. POGO is the number two kids' channel of India. Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE), a specialized licensing and merchandising division of the Cartoon Network, recently entered the merchandising space with its second Indian kids' channel POGO, with POGO apparel, home entertainment, activity kits, high end toys like POGO wheels, and lots more.
