Says Sony Pictures Releasing of India managing Uday Singh, We are off to
a dream debut and the summer movie season could not have begun better. The strong
marketing campaign, a first ever dub in Bhojpuri and our brand alliances, helped
us take this franchise to a much wider audience base. At
the international box-office, the movie opened at several key nations in Asia
and Europe to gross a mammoth $227 million, outpacing the previous first weekend
record holder The Da Vinci Code. On the global scale, Spiderman 3 has generated
$375 million, which makes it the highest-grossing worldwide debut of all time. |
