Amrita TV launches search for 'Super Mom'

MUMBAI: Malayalam satellite channel Amrita TV has launched Vanitaratnam, a unique reality show to showcase young mothers who have a multifaceted personality.

Auditions were held in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Calicut. Out of the hundreds of aspirants judged by a jury panel comprising noted actors Rohini, Poornima Indrajit and Murali Menon, 15 women were shortlisted to take part in the TV program which will be aired from 9 April, Mon-Fri 8 pm-9 pm.

Vanitaratnam, which purports to be a search for the Super Mom will be a blend of both reality and stage show - a woman who balances motherhood and womanhood. The program will assess various competencies of the contestant, which will include their special skills, singing, dancing, acting, communication skills at home and workplace, including self-confidence to handle impromptu situations.

The contestants include a mother who is a teacher and at the same time a dancer and athlete. Likewise another aspirant, a mother of a one-year old is a choreographer, painter and a black belt holder. Yet another woman is pursuing her MD with literary talents and living in a joint family

Like Amrita TV's earlier music reality show Super Star, contestants of Vanitaratnam will undergo a professional grooming session for stage management, along with yoga, personality development & stress therapy sessions.

The one-hour, 5 day-a-week show is slated for 65 episodes and branded by AVT Tea. The winner of the Vanitaratnam crown walks away with a first prize of pure gold worth Rs 500,000.

The elimination of contestants will be done by public voting, and since Amrita TV has a global footprint as also available on internet on Jump TV, audiences across the world will be able to participate to decide the winner.
