MUMBAI: India has entered into an agreement with Behrain
to develop the cultural and scientific relations, with a Cultural
Exchange Programme (CEP) for the duration of 2007-2010. The
CEP envisages co-operation in education, promotion of language,
art and culture, the media, radio and television.
According to an official announcement, the two sides will
exchange books, publications and audiovisuals for enhancing
the knowledge of their respective cultures and education system
and methods. Both sides will encourage the exchange of lecturers
of Arabic language and literature and of Hindi language and
literature as well as other Indian languages, as mutually
decided. The two sides will cooperate in the preparation of
books and audio visual aids designed for the teaching of Hindi
and Arabic languages.
Both sides will encourage exchange of programmes including
documentaries broadcast by radio and television on national
occasions in both countries. Both sides will also exchange
programmes broadcast by radio and television to acknowledge
different aspects of life and culture in both countries.
Among other sectors, both sides will encourage exchange of
expertise and training in the areas of girl's education including
vocational education.
