BANGALORE: Zee Kannada News Head Vijay Goyal’s idea of having people sign and give them their handkerchiefs to root for an Indian victory during the current World Cup has fetched them 45,000 plus of the piece of fabric with endorsements from people across Karnataka and India too. The event was Inaugurated by Srikantadutta Narasimharaja Wodeyar, the Scion of Mysore Royal Family. The recorded measurements totaled almost six kilometers, when the organizers ran out of space to string up the kerchiefs. The estimated length of the entire chain was more than 17 kilometers.

Besides the handkerchief chain, the Dr. Rajkumar Marwari Kannada Abhimana Sangha in association with See `Kanada, organized for a signature campaign on what they claim as the largest handkerchief in the world at the same venue. The kerchief measured 48 feet by 52 feet six inches.
