BANGALORE: In continuation of their announced initiatives
to select the best from every field, Zee Kannada has started
an SMS campaign that will enable viewers to select the best
public servant in Karnataka from a shortlist of 4 candidates.
The candidates were picked up from the nominations sent by
the officers themselves and their wellwishers.
The nominations were called by way of newspaper advertisements
and announcements on Zee Kannada. The four officials nominated
are Madan Gopal, Savithri, Jayaram and Mallika.
This is the third in the series of Awards launched by the
Essel Group in Karnataka. The first two awards were devoted
to legislators and sportspersons.
April’s award is devoted to the State’s best NGO/
Social worker. Essel group’s Subhash Chandra had announced
some time ago that this initiative was being tested in Karnataka
first and that he plans to take the campaign throughout India
and select the best Indian in each category/field.
