MUMBAI: The stakeholders of the entertainment industry are
examining the desirability of setting up of an Export Promotion
Council/Forum for the film and television sector.
The Union Government had asked the industry in March last
year to consider this in terms of the guidelines of Department
of Commerce, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan
Dasmunsi told the Rajya Sabha (upper House) today.
According to these guidelines, the EPC/EPF is to be constituted
by at least 50 per cent of the exporters representing at least
75 per cent of the value of exports of film industry in the
previous year.
He said further action would be taken after the industry sends
its proposals in this regard. |
