B.A.G Films Q4 net up 87% to Rs 7.6 million

MUMBAI: B.A.G Films and Media Limited has posted a net profit of Rs 7.64 million for the last quarter of the fiscal ended 31 March 2007, up 87 per cent over a year ago period.

Total income has increased 68 per cent to Rs 126.62 million while profit before interest depreciation and tax (PBIDT) rose 115 per cent to Rs 27 million.

The board, which met today, has recommended a dividend of 10 per cent to the shareholders.

For the entire fiscal, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 33.60 million, up by 10 per cent. Net income from sales and operations registered a rise of 4 per cent to Rs 441.42 million from Rs 423.87 million last fiscal. PBIDT increased 28 per cent to Rs 82 million.

Commenting on the performance, B.A.G. Films managing director Anurradha Prasad said, "Our performance in the quarter ended 31 March 2007 has been quite satisfactory. Strong emphasis on non-broadcast business and cost control measures have yielded higher top and bottom line respectively. Going forward, we are confident of continuing to achieve healthy revenue and profitability growth."

B.A.G Films is foraying into Bengali feature Films with Ami,Yaseen aur amaar Madhubala, directed by Budhadeb Das Gupta.

The company has launched an international show Yeh Vaada Raha for Ary Digital, Dubai available in Pakistan, UAE, USA and UK.

The FM radio business through subsidiary company B.A.G. Infotainment (P) Limited is already operational in Karnal and Hissar. B.A.G plans to launch Radio Dhamaal 106.4 FM through its subsidiary wherein it has bagged 10 FM Radio licenses in the cities of Hissar, Karnal, Patiala,Shimla, Muzaffarpur, Ranchi, Jabalpur,Jalgaon ,Dhule and Ahmadnagar.

The company is venturing into broadcasting business through two of its subsidiaries, B.A.G. Glamour (P) Limited and B.A.G. Newsline Network (P) Limited. B.A.G proposes to launch four television channels in the entertainment and news segment.

B.A.G Films has entered into a joint venture with Sieindesign Co, a firm which has a presence in the production, distribution and licensing of animation movies and TV series.
