Amrita TV bags 11 state awards

MUMBAI: Amrita TV has bagged 11 Kerala state government awards for the year 2006, the highest amongst all Malayalam TV channels.

The awards honour excellence in television and this is the second year in a row that Amrita TV has had a clean sweep of the maximum awards.

Amrita TV has won eight awards in the fiction category and three for non-fiction. The channel's in-house tele-film, Neermathalathinte Pookal won four awards for second best telefilm, best scriptwriter, best audiographer and best music director.

The telefilm Thaniye also won the best videography award and best actress award and Irumeghangalkkum Suryareshmikalkkum Madhye won for best supporting actor. Meanwhile, Chitrashalabham was given the best television serial award.

In the non-fiction category, Udayamritam won the Jury's Special Award for the director and videographer. Pradikshanam won the best commentator award.
