Amrita TV
has announced a new reality show in Malayalam titled 'Best Actor' wherein the
winner - male or female - bags a trip to Hollywood apart from an opportunity to
act in a Malayalam film. The
runner-up can bag scholarships to pursue an acting course in a reputed institution
selected by Amrita TV. Noted
directors, actors and theatre personalities are expected to participate in the
judging process. A
nationwide preliminary screen test will kick-off soon and will be conducted at
Mumbai (July 21,22), Bangalore (July 25,26), Chennai (July 29,30), Thrissur (Aug
2-4) and Trivandrum (Aug 6-9) by jury comprising film makers and artists. The
main criteria for the preliminary selection process will be versatile acting talent
of the aspirants. This will be followed by a final screen test in Trivandrum which
will identify the contestants who will compete for the 'Best Actor' mantle. A
residential acting workshop will be conducted by actors and filmmakers for the
channel to hone the skills and talent of contestants short listed from the nationwide
screening process. The
show will be telecast on prime time, six days a week and the elimination process
will be through SMS voting. |
