DELHI: The lone one-day cricket match between India and Scotland and all the seven
one-dayers against England are to be telecast live on Doordarshans national
channel between 16 August and 8 September. Doordarshan
is to telecast the matches both on the direct-to-home DD Direct and the terrestrial
service. However,
DD will telecast only the highlights of the three test matches against England
between 19 July and 13 August. The highlights will be telecast on the morning
after the days play for one hour between 8 am and 9 am. Thus, the first
highlights programme will be on 20 July.
ESPN, which is the rights holder for the matches, will do the marketing and the
revenue will be split 75:25 in favour of ESPN. This is in accordance with the
legislation passed by Parliament earlier this year on mandatory sharing of telecast
rights by private TV channels. The
first test is being held at Lords in London between 19 July and 23 July,
the second between 27 July and 31 July at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, and the
third from 9 August to 13 August at Kennington Oval in London. The test matches
will be played between 3.30 pm and 10.30 pm Indian Standard Time. The
lone one-dayer against Scotland is on 16 August at Titwood in Glasgow.
The
one-dayers against England are on 21 August at The Rose Bowl in Southampton, on
24 August at County Ground in Bristol, on 27 August at Edgbaston in Birmingham,
on 30 August at Old Trafford in Manchester, on 2 September at Headingley in Leeds,
on 5 September at Kennington Oval in London, and on 8 September at Lords
London. The
first two one-dayers and the fourth one-dayer will be played between 7 pm and
2:45 am and the others are from 2:45 pm to 10:30 pm. |
