MUMBAI: Television format creator and distributor FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) celebrates Christmas in the UK by launching its new X Factor interactive DVD (iDVD) game.

The music and trivia quiz from the entertainment show tests for contenders to see if they have what it takes to be an X Factor judge, recreating the trials, tribulations and tension of the real thing in players own living rooms and offering them the chance to compete in a grand prize draw.

The game is hosted by The Xtra Factor presenter Fearne Cotton who guides players through the rounds from auditions to the live final, testing their music industry credentials.

Suitable for one to four players, The X Factor interactive DVD game follows the format of the show:

Round One: The Auditions – Players each watch three real auditions, taken from the four TV series, and vote on whether the aspiring singers should go through the next round.

Round Two: Boot Camp – Each player is allocated a category (14 to 24-year-old boys, 14 to 24-year-old girls, over 25s and groups) and must answer both audio, video and written questions about the show, and bonus questions based on their pop music general knowledge.

Round Three: Judges’ Homes – Players take their category on and answer questions from the Judges and about the Judges against the clock!

Round Four: The Live Shows –The questions get harder as the weeks progress and the first player to The Grand Final must answer a killer X Factor question to win.

But it doesn’t end there. The player who emerges The X Factor expert will be given a code which can be entered to compete in a grand prize draw with the following up for grabs:

Four tickets for The X Factor Live Tour 2008 including backstage passes to meet the performers.

- A personalised X Factor platinum disc.

- A 40" flat-panel TV, DVD player and home cinema sound system.

- A top-of-the-range games console, a laptop and a video iPod.

FME senior VP - home entertainment and archive sales Pete Kalhan said, “We are very proud to announce this spectacular game having spent the last 14 months working closely with the producers of The X Factor, TalkbackThames and SyCo TV, to ensure we created a game that is based very much on the hugely successful TV show, while providing hours of fun for all the family.”
