MUMBAI: Nokia has completed the acquisition of Avvenu, the California based service provider that offers mobile access to personal files stored on a PC, including users' iTunes music libraries.

The acquisition will Nokia enhance its portfolio of solutions for mobile operators, as well as deliver a secure file access and share service direct to mobile workers.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

"With the integration of Avvenu's technology, Nokia will further extend its business mobility solutions beyond email to add collaboration tools that enable greater everyday productivity through access to a user's own content anytime, anywhere, from any connected device," said Nokia executive VP and general manager of Enterprise Solutions Mary McDowell.

Avvenu lets users search, access and share PC files remotely, even when the PC is not on or connected to the Internet.

Avvenu will be integrated into Nokia's new services and software unit, as a part of the company's re-organization planned in January.

The company announced this week that it has expanded Nokia for Business Channel Program to include wireless carriers and independent software vendors. It also introduced new incentive programs to encourage the creation of mobile products and services for businesses.
