MUMBAI: Ortel Communications is spreading its cable TV and broadband services to outside Orissa.

The multi-system operator (MSO) has been awarded 'A' category Internet service provider (ISP) license. This will enable it to provide Internet service across the country. It already has C and B class licenses of different circles.

"We are planning to launch our cable TV and Internet services simultaneously in West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Chattisgarh," says Ortel Communications VP corporate affairs B P Rath.

Ortel currently offers cable TV in 10 cities of Orissa. The broadband service is available in nine cities, and the MSO claims to have nearly 20,000 Internet subscribers.

Ortel rounded off the fiscal 2006-07 with a topline of Rs 370 million. It hopes to achieve a turnover of Rs 500 million this fiscal.
