Production house Optimystix has appointed Louie Fernandes as COO. Based
out of Mumbai, Fernandes will be responsible for scaling the television and content
creation business verticals on the production house's existing format shows.
Optimystix
entertainment CEO and executive chairman Sanjiv Sharma said, "Louie brings
tremendous passion, experience and energy to the team here at Optimystix. Given
that we aim to be a serious contender in the local and global 'creative IP format'
space, it helps us to have talent such as Louie on board. We look forward to embedding
the Optimystix brand on the global 'creative content' map." Prior
to his appointment Fernandes has been CEO of TV18, New York where he was responsible
for managing an acquired magazine called Mantram while preparing the groundwork
to launch a 24-hour channel. He
was also instrumental in launching the first 24-hour news & infotainment channel
for South Asians in the US. He has held various strategic positions across the
television and entertainment industry in companies such as ESPN Star Sports, MTV
India, Indya.com, Indian Express Group, media2india.net among others. Optimystix
is involved in content creation for ad films, game shows, light entertainment
shows, Bollywood programming, children and fiction programming. The production
house has created programs such as Indian Idol, Khulja Sim Sim,
Comedy Circus and the soon to be launched Bathroom Singer. |
