MUMBAI:
Zee Bangla is geared up to introduce a dance reality show
titled Dance Bangla Dance.
 The
channel has roped in super star and disco dancer from Bengal
Mithun Chakraborty as the Maha Guru and mentor for the participants.
Slated
to kick off on 2 August, the show will occupy the 10 pm slot
on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Zee
Bangla SVP Rajib Chatterjee told Indiantelevision.com
that the objective of the show was to be different through
its attempt to introduce this new genre of a dance talent
hunt to Bengali television.
"This
will be the first dance format show on a Bangla channel. There
is a logical connect between the show and Mithun Chakraborty
as the chief mentor. Dance Bangla Dance will invite
talent from across the region and will showcase dance styles
like salsa, fox trot, hip hop and break dance," Chatterjee
added.
The
show will have 35 contenders vying for the top spot. Interactivity
has also been incorporated into the format, where a live audience
will have the opportunity to cast their votes via a vote meter.
Additionally, SMS voting from viewers will also help determine
the fate of the contenders.
Hosted
by radio and television personality Mir, Dance Bangla Dance will replace
the stand up comedy show Mirakkel. |
