MUMBAI: The recently promoted general counsel of Star India Himavat Chaudhuri has put in his papers.

This has been confirmed to Indiantelevision.com by sources close to the development. Chaudhuri took over this role in April this year to replace Ajay Sharma, who moved on to INX Media.

Prior to this, Chaudhuri was in charge of regulatory and government affairs, a portfolio he continued to oversee even after his elevation to general counsel.

When contacted, Chaudhuri refused comment, directing all queries to the Star spokeperson.

Chaudhuri has been with Star India for close to four years. Prior to this, he was with Discovery Channel for a tenure of six years.
