MUMBAI:
TV18 has elevated B Sai Kumar to chief operating officer (COO)
for the group.
Kumar
was earlier CEO of TV 18 Media Network, which is the commercial
arm of the Group looking after the interests of CNBC, IBN
and Web businesses of the Group.
In
his new role, Kumar will be actively involved in all the activities
of the group including Web 18 (the group's internet arm),
Newswire 18 (The Group's news and data terminal business),
Home shop 18 along with mandates for other new ventures across
the television and new media space.
While
synergising with and actively supporting the CEO's/teams of
different business units, Kumar will be reporting into TV18
Group CEO Haresh Chawla, informs an official release issued
by the company.
Chawla
said, "Sai has been instrumental in the transcendence
of the TV18 Group into India's leading full play media entity
in the past few years. We believe that his competencies on
the revenue side as well as robust operational understanding
will equip us to successfully unleash synergies across the
group. We're in a growth mode and Sai's energy and focus shall
lead us in the right direction."
