MUMBAI: Pan Asian broadcaster Star will broadcast a concert
on 1 July to mark the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana's
death.
Elton John, Rod Stewart, Keane and Kanye West will be among
the artistes who will perform.
Other international broadcasters for the event will include
NBC, BBC, CTV and RTL. The concert is being organised by Prince
William and Prince Harry.
William says, We wanted to have this big concert full of
energy, full of the sort of fun and happiness which I know
she would have wanted. It's got to be the best birthday present
she ever had."
Tickets for the event sold out within 20 minutes last December.
Money raised from the concert will go to several charities,
including the Diana Memorial Fund.
The Spice Girls and Dire Straits have been asked to have
a reunion for the event. Robbie Williams has been invited
and Duran Duran's Simon Le Bon has been offereda chance to
duet with Justin Timberlake.
