MUMBAI: French video gag specialist Novavision has announced that it has sold its series of hidden camera clips titled Zeze Candid Camera to Ronnie Screwvala's UTV for cable, terrestrial broadcast, Internet and mobile phone at MipTV in Cannes.

UTV's latest broadcast venture is a youth based brand Bindass that will kick off in India with a television channel, followed by online and mobile activities.
Each hidden camera gag in the Zeze Candid Camera series lasts 1 to 3 minutes, and in each one several dozen people are set up. The clips are available individually or packaged as Pop Corn TV. The slapstick comedy is served up without presenter or audience, instead enhanced with animation by UK-based animator Bruce Dunlop and Associates, whose clients include BBC Entertainment, National Geographic and ESPN. It is because they are not dialogue-driven, its is said that candid camera clips are adapted for the international market and reach all audience demographics.

In Brazil, terrestrial channel SBT has acquired 25 shows of Pop Corn TV, compilations of gags from the ZeZe series, informs an official release.

Additionally, Novavision is launching a fourth season of 105 new hidden camera clips at MipTV. The company will now be offering international buyers in Cannes a total of 250 gags.
