Bluestreak, PacketVideo deliver interactive mobile TV application for Orange France

MUMBAI: Bluestreak Networks, which develops the MachBlue platform for television and mobile, and PacketVideo which innovates in the area of multimedia software, are teaming up to provide wireless carriers with an advanced interactive mobile TV application.

Orange France is the first mobile carrier to deploy the integrated solution with the launch of its League 1 Soccer application this month.

The integration of PacketVideo's industry leading media client with Bluestreak's MachBlue platform for mobile enables carriers to deliver an engaging yet simple mobile TV navigation interface along with a high quality audiovisual experience.

The integrated solution enables consumers to follow all League 1 matches-- get up to the minute text updates and videos of game highlights during the match, as well as daily updates and videos during the tournament. It features transparency on videos, pop up videos, anti-aliasing, and advertisements
between videos.

PacketVideo CEO Dr. James Brailean says, "We are very excited to offer carriers an advanced mobile TV experience of world class soccer action. Our combined solution with Bluestreak provides consumers a high quality, feature rich experience of mobile TV that is user friendly and easy to navigate on their mobile handset."

Bluestreak Networks executive VP, head of the mobile division Paul Forostowsky says, "PacketVideo is a leader in launching exciting new mobile multimedia services and together we are offering innovative mobile media applications to Orange. Working closely with PacketVideo we are bringing together the flexibility of wireless with the proven quality of our technologies in enabling carriers with the ability to customize, enhance and simplify their customer's mobile TV experience."

Bluestreak's MachBlue for mobile offers robust features while minimising memory footprint, maximizing execution speed, conserving battery life, and retaining code portability on a large variety of devices, now including Orange's League 1. The MachBlue platform delivers a consistent mobile TV user experience, resulting in faster deployment and lower development costs.

PacketVideo's Media Client supports streaming, progressive download and playback of all major mobile content types, including video and audio.
