The SDX Network Resource Manager performs Call Admission Control
(CAC) per video session request to assure the appropriate bandwidth
is available to deliver the video stream with the required quality
of service as specified in content distribution agreements.
Working with Juniper Networks E-, M- and T-series routers, the
Network Resource Manager dynamically constructs Label Switched Paths
(LSPs) from the video source to the network edge and automatically
re-assigns allocated bandwidth for each video LSP based upon the
utilization of the connection.
In the event of an outage, the SDX Network Resource Manager can
transparently re-route LSPs or acquire the video content from a
secondary source without disrupting the viewing experience.
"Juniper's architecture is the industry's best solution for
cost-effectively delivering video content from multiple sources
over a converged network infrastructure with an assured user experience,"
says Juniper Networks CTO, for Asia Pacific, Andrew Coward.
He adds, "Service providers are choosing Juniper to support
Triple Play services, such as IPTV, because we deliver a high-capacity,
standards-based infrastructure that is both application agnostic
and flexible enough to accommodate scale and changing service requirements."
Juniper Networks is the leader in enabling secure and assured communications
over a single IP network. The company's purpose-built, high performance
IP platforms enable customers to support many different services
and applications at scale. The company delivers products for building
networks that are tailored to the specific needs of their users,
services and applications.
