MUMBAI: Tamil channel Raj TV is celebrating this Women's Day, 8 March, with a line up of special shows glorifying Indian Woman. On 3 March, the channel will kick of a week-long film festival featuring movies with woman-oriented themes.

On 8 March, the channel will telecast Great Women of Our Century, a documentary of Women achievers like Kalpana Chawla, Mother Teresa and M S Subulakshmi. The programme will be of half hour duration. This will follow with special programmes featuring women achievers in various fields including sports, dance and music.

The channel will telecast a show on Men achievers with the focus on the women behind them. The channel's popular show Ladies Junction, anchored by Suhasini Maniratnam, will present a special episode.

The film festival will begin with the national award winning film Silla Nerangalil Silla Manitharkal. The film will telecast at 2 pm. On 4 March, the channel will telecast the Oorvasi starrer Vasuki at 2 pm. The movie slotted for 5 March is Nilava Suduvathilai starring Radhika and Sivakumar, at 12:30 pm. Pennin Katahai starring Tabu will air on 6 March at 12:30 pm followed by Patthini, starring Khushbu and Jayaram, the next day at 2 pm. Mangai Oru Gangai, starring Suresh and Nadhiya is scheduled for 8 March at 2 pm.
