[V] teams up with Nestle Pure Life for Summer Shake 2005

MUMBAI: Channel [V] has teamed up with Nestle Pure Life for the Summer Shake 2005, the largest outdoor music event in China.

The event was kicked off today (30 July), the day-long Summer Shake 2005 will feature live performance by top artists from the Mainland China, Hong Kong Taiwan, including Hacken Lee, Joey Yung, Vivian Hsu and Nicholas Tse, at the scenic Jinshan beach in Shanghai.

The festival will also feature the finale contest of Nestle Pure Life [V] Band Search, an original band competition that has held over 1,000 auditions across Mainland China. The final round will be held prior to the evening performance at Summer Shake 2005. Twelve bands will vie for the ultimate accolades, with the winning group sharing the stage with the performing guests.

The associate sponsor for Summer Shake 2005 is Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications China and official sponsors are Heineken, Jack Daniel's and Jissbon.

Nestle China head of Water Business Unit Werner Schuppisser said, "As a water beverage brand loved by the young generation, Nestle Pure Life is delighted to be associated with Summer Shake, a festive outdoor music event enjoyed by tens of thousands of young Chinese music lovers. We believe that both Summer Shake and The Nestle Pure Life [V] Band Search will create a platform for the young to actively pursue their dreams and to confidently express themselves through music."

Co-organised by Channel [V], The People's Government of Shanghai Jinshan District and Shanghai Media Group (SMG), Summer Shake 2005 has also teamed up with Shanghai Charity Fund for a fund-raising public auction with proceeds coming from memorabilia donated by pop stars from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Channel [V] Mainland China general manager Grace Gu said, "It’s a pleasure to see Summer Shake staging a quality Chinese music fiesta and, at the same time, contributing to the unprivileged in the society."

To build up momentum for Summer Shake 2005, pop artists will perform live for fans in a series of warm-up mini-concerts in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangdong over three weeks in July.

Summer Shake 2005 will be broadcast on more than 20 channels, including Channel [V], Xing Kong and various SMG channels.
