Discovery US is best cable channel for 11th successive year

MUMBAI: The results of the 2005 Beta Research Cable Subscriber Study  Evaluation of Basic Cable Networks state that Discovery Channel ranks, for the 11th consecutive year, as the number one network in average perceived value and as a favorite basic cable channel.

Discovery US president, affiliate sales and marketing Bill Goodwyn says, "As their most enjoyed and highly valued network, cable subscribers continue to count on Discovery Channel to deliver high quality programming that is immersive and knowledge based. The strength of the Discovery Channel brand, coupled with the network's robust slate of new programming in a variety of genres, positions the network to help our affiliate partners drive quantifiable business results for many years to come."

Among Comcast subscribers, Discovery Channel ranks number one in terms of importance to the enjoyment of cable and as a favorite basic cable channel. Time Warner subscribers rank Discovery Channel as number one in terms of importance to the enjoyment of cable and perceived value and Cox subscribers rank the network number as a favourite cable channel.

Discovery Health Channel ranked among the top five mid-sized networks most important to the enjoyment of cable, as well as in terms of viewer satisfaction and programme quality.
