'Lost', 'Amazing Race' among winners of Family Television Awards

MUMBAI: The Seventh Annual Family Television Awards, held on 30 November in Beverly Hills recognised honorees in nine categories for their contributions to outstanding family entertainment. The winners include Lost in the drama category and Amazing Race in the reality category.

 
 
Family Television Awards' mission is to support and promote the development of "family friendly" television across all programming genres between the hours of 8 and 10 pm, when adults and children are most likely to watch television together, states an official release.

The awards are given by the members of the Family Friendly Programming Forum and selected by the members of the Association of National Advertisers. The 40-plus major national advertisers that participate in the Forum are taking positive steps to increase family friendly programming choices on primetime television.

Drama: "Lost" (ABC)

Comedy: "King of Queens" (CBS)

Reality: "Amazing Race" (CBS)

Reality Host: Ty Pennington ("Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," ABC)

Best New Series: "Everybody Hates Chris" (UPN)

Actor: Jim Belushi ("According to Jim," ABC)

Actress: Reba McEntire ("Reba," The WB)

Movie: "The Wool Cap" (TNT)

Lifetime Achievement: "7th Heaven" (The WB)
