 Russia Today back on air after eliminating all bugs

MUMBAI: Russia Today has resumed broadcasting after a day's disruption . It presents round-the-clock news about Russia in English. The channel had stopped broadcasting on 12 December, suspecting a technical malfunction in its computer systems.

The channel, which started beaming into homes on 10 December had to discontinue broadcasting. Russia Today editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan explained that the problem with “Due to attempts to break into the channel’s computer system from outside and a suspected virus infection, the channel has had to cease broadcasting until technical malfunctions are mended.”

 
   
 

The 24-hour, English-language, state-funded television channel Russia Today is headed by Natalya Simonyan, a 25-year-old former Kremlin correspondent for state TV channel Rossiya.
