Kannada satellite radio channel launched

BANGALORE: Worldspace Satellite Radio has launched a Kannada satellite radio channel on 3 September. The radio channel Sparsha will cover programmes on art, culture, fashion, sports and current events and claims to have an advertisement-free schedule.
 
 
Sparsha will cover folk and light music along with film music. Music from films of the 60s, 70 and 80s will vie for a place to provide the required software. A hour of devotional songs in the morning will be a part of the package, as will a number of named programs.
 
 

Music from Worldspace can be accessed through their exclusive receivers that cost Rs.3999 onwards and the annual subscription rate is fixed at Rs.1250.

KL radio in Tamil and RM radio in Malayalam are the existing Indian regional channels from the Worldspace bouquet. India apart, Worldspace is present in China, Europe, Middle East and South Africa. In India the satellite radio firm is based in Bangalore.
