ETC Channel Punjabi president and Alpha Punjabi business head Rabindra Narayan has been quoted in an official release as saying, "We are endeavoring to take high quality entertainment and television to smaller towns and cities. It is imperative and inevitable that television channels connect directly with the viewer in these areas. We want to provide quality shows and set trends in bringing forth all styles of music."

The venue - Kapurthala Palace - will don a completely new look, as it will be bedecked with the computer controlled lighting on the evening of the event, informs the release.
