BBC looking to expand presence in US

MUMBAI: The BBC recently announced that it was in talks with various US cable companies like Comcast, Cox Communications and Time Warner, to distribute its BBC World news channel.
 
 
In order to find the suitable cable distributor, the BBC is working in tandem with Discovery Networks. The British pubcaster is looking to increase its distribution in the US on a priority basis.
 
 

A media report says that discussions have already been held with the above mentioned US cable giants. But the beeb is reluctant to give out any further details due to "commercial sensitivities."
