The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is
the largest organisation of global broadcasters. The Academy was
chartered in 1969 with a mission to honor and encourage excellence
in television programming produced outside of the United States
by awarding the International Emmy Award in eight categories, as
stated in the offical release.
The other nominated programs were: Good Morning Japan: Eclipse
in the Antarctic produced by NHK Japan; Liberia produced
by Sky News United Kingdom and News 7: Terrorist Bombing of UN
Headquarters in Iraq produced by NHK, Japan.
For the second year in a row, the Academy paid homage to international
television journalists killed in the line of duty.
