MUMBAI: Elections still is the mainstay at news channels and the innovation is the order of the day. So after slew of the political satires across the news channel, NDTV is ready with yet another innovation an exclusive opinion poll.

Both its English and Hindi channels- NDTV 24X7 and NDTV India- will reveal the results of nationwide opinion polls on Friday night 26 March at 9.30 pm.

Conducted NDTV-Indian Express- AC Nielsen, the poll queried a random sample of 40 thousand people in 200 constituencies across the country, some of them in tiny villages in remote areas. The shows will have Prannoy Roy and Vinod Dua, for NDTV 24X7 and NDTV India respectively, says a company release.

As for the programme on 24x7 And the Winner is..., it will be anchored by Prannoy Roy. "It's going to be a very exciting discussion. We plan to have state-by-state forecasts, breakdowns of caste-based votes, and of course, the big question: Will the Congress pay a penalty for Sonia Gandhi's foreign origins?" promises Prannoy Roy.

Accompanying Roy in studio for his trademark swings-and-trends analysis will be Dorab Sopariwala, Yogendra Yadav, and for a broader political perspective, NDTV managing editor Rajdeep Sardesai, says the release.

While the programme on NDTV India Jeet Uski Janta Jiski, will be anchored by Dibang and will have Vinod Dua as a special analyst.

Says Dua, "The design of the poll makes it the most accurate an estimate can get."

Referring to the NDTV-Indian Express-AC Nielsen Poll Dibang adds, "An opinion poll captures the mood of the country at the time that it's conducted. Things can change in the days leading upto the actual voting. But we've taken all sorts of precautions to ensure it's very, very scientific".
