47 hrs and eight minutes: new record for continuous TV watching

MUMBAI: There is a new world record in television viewing. Briton Tom Gibson has created the new record for continuous television watching, after staying glued to the tube for 47 hours and eight minutes, just managing to beat the previous record of 47 hours and 16 seconds.
 
 
Gibson reached the milestone sitting in a specially created living room on Cromwell Road. The programmes figured in Tom's menu were back-to-back episodes of his favourite cartoons, episodes of Eastenders and a selection of the latest films. He also listened to his favourite shows on Capital FM, LBC and Heart 106.2 FM.
 
 

The Internet connection Tom had took care of his food and drinks during the backbreaking effort. The achievement was made under the regulation of a team of adjudicators who were on-site to monitor Tom's moves.
