MUMBAI: Today sports broadcasting is not just about showing an event. It is also about packaging the event and getting the viewers more heavily involved.

Action oriented broadcaster AXN has a treat up its sleeve for fans of World Rally Championship (WRC). It has announced the launch of a behind the scenes special AXN Shakedown.

The special kicks off on 16 July at 9 pm. The show which promises to be off the cuff goes to Greece. The country is gearing up for the sixth race of the season. The event is famous for roads that can break the backbone of the sturdiest of cars. Host Neil Cole gives viewers a flavour of a country made famous by mythical figures like Helen of Troy.

Cole also catches up with a couple of drivers in order to explore the landscape. The broadcaster will also have a mid season review of the event on 30 July at 9 pm.

Meanwhile fans of the reality genre will no doubt welcome the return of The Amazing Race. The fifth season of the show premieres on 7 July at 9 pm. Here you have 12 teams of two people racing around the world in the quest to win $1 million. Each team is bound by a pre existing relationship. The previous installment of the show saw a married gay couple walk off with the spoils.
