Paul Cutler is CNN Intl Asia Pacific's managing editor

MUMBAI: Paul Cutler has been appointed as the managing editor of CNNs production and newsgathering operations across Asia Pacific. Previously, he was the executive producer of CNN Internationals editorial functions in Hong Kong.

A company release states that this is a senior position within CNNs newly created international directorate. Cutler will oversee the day-to-day Hong Kong based regional news, business, and feature programming as well as co-ordinate CNNs newsgathering across the Asia Pacific region.

CNN Intl MD Chris Cramer adds, "Pauls talent as a hands-on manager combined with his journalistic integrity and broad experience of the Asia Pacific region make him perfect candidate for this challenging role. His knowledge of CNNs editorial and commercial business needs will be invaluable as we continue to develop CNN International and integrate newsgathering."

A major part of Cutler's responsibilities will be the CNN Hong Kong integrated television programming, web operation and editorial oversight of CNN Internationals flagship news business and feature programming from the region. Cutler brings to this new appointment three decades of experience and accomplishments in news reporting, production and leadership. Before joining CNN International in Atlanta in 2001, he was the managing editor of TV New Zealand News & Current Affairs.
