EMDI's event management seminar kickstarts 26 Feb.


MUMBAI: Event every weekend. That is the dictum followed by the entertainment channels these days. While such events do translate into good ratings, more often than not the unprofessional and slap shoddy attitude that has seeped in takes its toll. To put a stop to it all and change the way people man these events, the Event Management Development Institute (EMDI) has organised a three day seminar 'STOP living on the edge.'

Held at The Hyatt, Mumbai, the event starts tomorrow (26 February) and will end on 28 February. Starting at 9 am the seminar will see the likes of corporates, event managers, show organisers, media personnel as its special attendee.

The guest speakers at the event include Marketech & Future Results, partner and founder Marc L Goldberg, Marketech & Future Results president Mim Goldberg, George P Johnson Company VP marketing Mike Westcott and Exhibits Surveys Inc. VP Ian Sequiera.

Special Events and Event Measurement Seminar is a three-day seminar cum workshop on events, exhibitions and their measurement - Tailored specifically for the Indian market by Event Measurement Conferences, USA.

The seminar Includes relevant case studies and "class room" exercises and the international speakers will deliver all that there is to know about event management.

The programme schedule for the seminar is as follows:

Day one will cover the overview of events and exhibit marketing. It will cover where trade shows and events fit into the marketing mix and helps in creating the plan that lays out the strategies and tactics is critical to one's success (including sponsorships and award ceremonies). The first day will also cover topics such as basics of exhibit selling, creating designs that tell what you sell, using surveys to enhance the decision making, process using events to extend your strategic reach.

Day two will see topics such as event measurement, overview of event measurement, basics of measurement, measuring events, managing your portfolio strategy, reporting results to management being discussed.

Topics such as exhibiting and event marketing strategies and and tactics, promoting your events, conducting effective demonstrations, conducting effective pre-show meetings, using promotional products and literature effectively and exhibiting in changing times will be covered on the third and concluding day of the seminar.
