MUMBAI: It was a night of fond farewells for the cast of Sex and the City. HBO's sitcom was recognised for its ensemble acting at this morning's Screen Actors Guild (Sag) awards. In all the broadcaster took home five trophies.

In India the event aired on Zee English. The channel will have a repeat telecast tonight at 8 pm. In the US Sex And The City is in its final season. A visibly moved Kristin Davis said, "You guys have been unbelievably generous to us during the course of our show. And it means so much to all of us, and to Sarah Jessica, that you have embraced us, and that so many of you have come to act with us. It’s meant more than I think any of us have found a good way to express. We want to thank HBO for being brave and letting us do some strange things".

HBO's miniseries Angels In America won trophies for its thespians Al Pacino and Meryl Streep. Pacino said, " I know it means so much to get any part, you know, and especially a great part. One of the things we live for, is that opportunity. And here it is with Roy Cohn, I had this great part. Tony wrote this magnificent character, and it was a privilege to be involved with such an amazing piece of work." Six Feet Under's matriarch Frances Conroy won for best actress in a drama series.
