MUMBAI: The Rupert Murdoch owned media conglomerate News Corp has named Jack Abernethy as Fox Stations CEO.

Abernethy previously served as Fox News executive VP. The 48 year old Abernethy will report to Lachlan Murdoch who serves as News Corp deputy COO and Fox Television Stations chairman.

Fox's stations group includes 35 television stations. Abernethy joined Fox News in 1996. Prior to that, he spent 15 years with General Electric where he held executive positions at the NBC TV stations division and CNBC.
