MUMBAI: Balaji Telefilms has declared an interim dividend of 800 per cent i.e. Rs 16 per share of Rs 2 each. The outgo towards this will be Rs 824.30 million. The decision was taken at the board meeting today.

The record date fixed for the payment of interim dividend is 6 January, 2005. The interim dividend will be paid to the shareholders on and from 25 January, 2005, the company informed the BSE.

In an earlier board meeting, Balaji Telefilms had expressed intent to declare an interim dividend, subject to receipt of regulatory approval for the proposed investment by Asian Broadcasting FZ-LLC, a Star Group affiliate company. Balaji recently won approval from the foreign investment promotion board.
