Creative Eye plans 3D kids' flick

MUMBAI: Creative Eye Ltd., one of the prime suppliers of mytho software to channels terrestrial and satellite, in India, has now decided to make a 3D feature film for children.

In a notice to the National Stock Exchange, the production house has announced its intention of making what it claims is India's 'first 3D plus film'. Aabra ka Dabra will handle a children oriented subject and will be the first stereoscopic film using exclusive 3D Plus technology that does not require special polaroid lenses for projection. The technology has been developed indigenously jointly by Creative Eye Ltd., and the FX factory, an outfit that specialises in developing special effects for Indian feature films. The special stereosopic 3D Plus technology has also been patented in India, according to the notice.

The announcement comes nearly one year after Creative Eye disclosed its intention of venture into feature filmmaking. The company had said all three Hindi feature films would be launched by the end of calendar year 2002-2003. The first production to go on the floors was tentatively titled Tum Jo Mil Gaye. Produced by Dheeraj Kumar, the film was to be scripted by ZD Lari, with the music composed by Pyarelal, and directed by Amol Shedge. The film, a "social romantic film" with a new pair in the lead role, was to be shot in India and New Zealand and was slated for a January 2003 release. The other two films were to be launched by the end of August and September 2002 respectively.

As of now, of course, there's no word on where these are at.
